What it is

Competition work has a different job to marketing imagery. The jury is reading twenty entries in an afternoon, and the images have to carry an argument, not just an atmosphere. That means deciding early what the scheme is actually claiming, then building a set of images that each prove one part of it.

We work as a package rather than a shopping list of renders: a small number of hero stills that carry the idea, a support set that answers the questions those raise, and a film where movement explains something a still cannot. Under deadline, the sequencing of that work matters as much as the craft.

Questions

How late can we bring you in?
Later than is comfortable, but the narrative phase is what protects the outcome. If there are two weeks left we will tell you honestly what fits and what does not, rather than promising the full package and delivering it thin.
Do you work under NDA?
Yes. Project material is handled securely and held only for the retention window agreed with you, and no client data is ever used to train public AI models.
Can we credit afterform when we publish?
Please do. A credit and a link when the practice publishes is the only thing we ask beyond the fee.
What do you need from us to start?
Whatever exists: the brief, the massing, the sketches, and a conversation about what the scheme is arguing. The narrative phase turns that into a shot list before anything is rendered.
Do you use AI on competition work?
Yes, for range and speed at the exploration stage. Where accuracy matters the frames stay geometry-locked and viewpoint-locked. Our full AI policy is public.
